
Pressed Flowers Shawl: Mosaic Knitting - June 7, 21 & July 12
Join us in making the oh-so-beloved Pressed Flowers Shawl! This now iconic knitting design is the perfect intro to the world of mosaic knitting, and it will be a timeless staple in your accessories wardrobe. Mosaic knitting is a fun technique that utilizes two colors of yarn, but only one at a time. Perfect for showcasing handspun or variegated yarn.
This class is held in person at our Bainbridge Island shop over three sessions on Sunday June 7th, June 21st, and July 12th from 2:00pm - 4:30pm. Taught by Kaitlyn Pyle.
Must Know:
- Knit and Purl
- Familiarity with basic increases and decreases
Techniques you'll learn:
- Mosaic Knitting
- How to read mosaic charts
- Provisional Cast On
- I-cord edging
PLEASE NOTE: This is an intermediate knitting class and may not be suitable for beginner knitters. In order to move at the pace needed to finish this shawl, basics such as knitting and purling will not be covered in depth. If you have any questions as to whether this class would be a good fit for you, please reach out. We would be happy to discuss this class more in depth with you prior to you signing up!
What you'll need for the class:
- 1000 yards of DK Weight yarn (550 yards for main color and 450 yards for contrast) - We recommend De Rerum Natura Penelope, Merino DK, and Confetti
- US 6 (4mm) 32" Circular Needle
- Waste yarn
- Tapestry Needle
- Stitch Markers
Cancellation Policies:
If fewer than three spots are filled 72 hours before the class is scheduled to begin, the class will be canceled. A full refund will be issued and you will be notified.
